Summer List

I've had so many thoughts running through my brain {mostly at 4:30am} everything we need to get done, or want to do before lil miss Evie is here. Now my Husband seems to think we have plenty of time, which granted 16weeks seems like plenty of time. That's if I come on my due date, which would be awesome however I'm not sure my kiddo's like to be early to the party {just watch she'll prove me wrong}

So in order to keep all my thoughts away from my sleepless nights, I thought I'd write a blogging to-do-list, plus if feels if I write it on here for everyone to see I'll be more committed to getting the list actually checked off! {inter-webs accountability anyone?}

Here's the start of our list, I'm sure my brain will go off at 4:30am with a million other things to add to this list! I'll revisit this list to cross off and add!

Bluum Box: June Bugs

After spending all day inside potty training {3 day Method, more on this on Monday} Curtis & I decided to take a walk down to the mail box
(ours is at the end of the cul-de-sac)

We were pleasantly surprised to find our 1st Bluum Box! What is a Bluum box you ask? It's like getting a present in the mail every month. You don't know what's going to come in it, but you are always pleased with the content. It is filled with samples {sometimes full size items too} for Mom & Baby. New things you wouldn't normally try out, books, socks, lip balm, food items etc... It's always something new and different!

I saw a deal on Plum District  for a 3 month subscription for $18.00 so I jumped on the deal, after I heard about it through Growing Up Geeky's blog.

It's $11/month for a normal subscription, BUT if you go to  Discount Coupons they currently have the same type of promotion I got on Plum District!

Click on the linky below: 50% Off a 3-Month Membership To Bluum.com

Once you get the deal head on over to site using this linky: Bluum

Now for our box...

  • BabyBug Book
Baby bug is a "magazine subscription" but it's really a monthly subscription for a children's book! The book we got had 3-4 different stories in it! Curtis has been carrying it around all afternoon
  • Luna Bar
This was a yummy new flavor of a full size luna bar! My belly enjoyed it a lot.

  • Ella's Kitchen Food Pouch
Curtis really enjoyed this pouch. I haven't bought him food pouches in awhile, but sometimes he does go through spurts of not having enough veggies, it's great to know these pouches have lots of veggies/fruit and organic!

  •  Free & Clear Baby wipes!
I'm excited to try this trail size of wipes for when Evelyn gets here! I love the idea of chlorine free wipes!

  • Babyganics Lip Balm
My son absolutely loves lip balm, he is sneaking it from Bradley & I any chance he has. Since we have harsh sun during the summer, and bitter cold days in the winter I like to keep his lips moisturized so I am loving this full-size sample of babyganics pure-no-chemical lip balm!

Carrot Cake Waffles

You can thank me later, for telling you about these amazing Carrot Cake Waffles & Maple Cream Cheese Spread...

I decided to make these for dinner, because I just couldn't wait until Saturday morning to taste them! I'm glad I decided to do it for dinner, because in the end it took awhile to prep and make. But it was oh so worth it. They are super fluffy, flavorful, and just all around melt in your mouth. Whatever you do, don't skip on the Maple Cream Cheese! It's a must with this recipe, completes it!

Here is the recipe & gorgeous pictures:

I also highly suggest blooming the spices in the butter, like she recommends in the recipe.
Worth the extra 30minutes!

Bump Watch: 23 Weeks

Yesterday I had my monthly Midwife visit. Now listen up everyone {strangers at the grocery store} my belly is measuring right on track for 23weeks. Meaning, I am not small, I am in normal range!

I have a very long torso which gives babies plenty of room to wiggle about length wise not out. Just like being told "You're huge" all the time, the same applies for being told "oh my goodness your how many weeks? you're so small for being xweeks"
it get's a bit much after awhile.

I'm sure everyone means nice, but to me and my complications with Curtis's pregnancy, having dealt low fluid level and small placenta I'm a bit more hyper sensitive to the "small" comments  ;) So take head, this pregnant mama doesn't want to know about her belly size I can see for my self just how "small" I am. Thank you very much :)

Pregnancy: 23 Weeks

Weight Gain: Official Midwife weigh in yesterday was 121.6 Nearing that 10lb gain mark. Here's to gaining another 25 in the next few months.

Sleep: My Husband just asked me last night, {as I was falling asleep on the couch} "why are you so tired all the time, I mean I know your pregnant but sheesh you are falling asleep all the time"
I'm pretty sure I laughed and than feel asleep on his lap. At least that's all I remember. At night it's been uncomfortable, because I'm confined to either of my sides I wake up with my shoulders/hips hurting often.

GenderGIRL!

Names: Evelyn Dawn read about why we named her that here

Feeling: Besides the obvious tiredness, I've been dealing with some hip pains and head aches...course I haven't been to my chiropractor in a week so I'm sure that has something to do with it.

Movement: She likes to move, and lets me know she doesn't like me poking around on my belly. If only she'd move up, she still is hanging out down low.

Next Appointment: July 24th with be my Glucose test {yay fruit punch drink! not}a growth and fluid ultrasound, and the regular appointment. Around that time will be the same time I started having complications with Curtis's pregnancy, so I'm eager to get in and make sure Evie's still growing on track and has enough fluid etc...

Milestones:
she's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb.

Mini Babymoon

May & June are busy months for the Halbert Homestead. We have Mothers Day, My Birthday, Anniversary, Fathers Day, Bradley's Birthday. All wrapped up within the span of 1 month!

Since our anniversary/birthdays we didn't do much, we decided to save up and go away for night! {gasp a kid-less night?!} We called it our "babymoon" and although for most people that means flying somewhere tropical for a week...for our budget it meant 1 night away at our favorite hotel The Inverness. We called in the troops...aka Grandma Dawn. She so nicely took care of our boy overnight. Yesterday we left at 3pm and headed for a kid-less 24hours!

After checking in to our room, we wasted no time and switched into our swimsuits!
Swimming without a kid in your arms? forgot what that was like.
Hello deep end!

Sun bathing & Evelyn enjoying the view.

Bradley enjoying his drink at dinner.
Happy Birthday Babe!

After dinner walk around the lake.

Beautiful sunset from our hotel.

So thankful for the night away, it was much needed before Miss Evie makes her debut!

Bump Watch 22 Weeks + some..

{22Weeks 3days}
Inverness Hotel
Dress: Target Maternity
Pregnancy: 22 Weeks

Weight Gain: 9.5lbs. Gained 1.5lbs this week!

Sleep: I don't think I'll ever get the 2nd tri energy...seeing as 3rd tri is nearing the corner.

GenderGIRL!

Names: Evelyn Dawn read about why we named her that here
Feeling: Been doing good this week, keeping busy. Had a few "off days" where I just wanted to sit and read a book. Course the 100+ weather doesn't help with the laziness. I'm very much looking forward to fall days!

Movement: She is moving a lot now, I feel most of the kicks/movement in my back/tailbone area. She's been getting hiccups a lot lately, last night she had some at 2:30am!

Next Appointment: June 27th with my Midwife. Can't wait to hear her heartbeat, and get my belly measured.

Milestones:
At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, she is starting to look like a miniature newborn. Her lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and she's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath her gums. Her eyes have formed, but her irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment.

Fathers Day 2012

Last week Curtis and I set out to Michael's craft store.
We needed to find Daddy a Fathers Day Present.
I saw the DAD pictures done last year a lot, always thought they were cute but never did them. This year I decided to do them for Bradley.
Bought a 3 picture frame, and D/A letters,
went outside with Curtis and hoped for the best.

While at Michael's, Curtis picked up a wooden box. The kind you can paint.
He said "present daddy" I let him pick out the colors to paint it. Of course both blue just different shades.

When we got home he went to town painting the entire box all by himself.

Now the presents were ready for Sundays' festivities.

Bradley showing the boys how to shoot these wind up airplane toys.
They were pretty cool.

Bradley & Papa taking the shooting seriously ;)

21.5 week belly

Uncle Bradley and Noelle

Out to dinner!

Burning off our energy after dinner..

It was a nice low-key Fathers day. Now onto planning Bradley's Birthday in 3 days!
