Bump Watch: Week 17

(forgive the re-post of picture)
How far along: 17 weeks 1Days
How big is baby: 5 inches long & 5 ounces!

Maternity clothes: My jeans became to uncomfortable and when my husband saw how I was holding them together with a rubber band he made me go out and by M. Pants...they are soo comfy!
Stretch marks: Nope!

Sleep: Has improved of the last week, we put our memory foam on top of our bed and that has made it easier on my hips to sleep

Best moment this week: Bradley felt the baby!! Yay!! I couldn't tell if it was just me feeling the baby on the inside (while my hand was covering the spot at the same time) or if I was really feeling it on the outside as well, I told Bradley to come feel and he felt the baby almost right as he put his hand down. He was so excited!
Movement: This kid might be a tap dancer..
Food cravings: No real cravings this week..hmm
Labor signs: Nope!

Belly button in or out: how about smushed? it seems to be stretching east and west. lol

What I miss: lots of caffeine

What I'm looking forward to: November 20th!!! We get to have our "big" ultrasound and see if our baby is a he or a she!!!

November 20th: 1:00pm

Is the date and time that we will see our little one and find out if "it" is a HE or a SHE!
Our ultrasound is scheduled and we cannot wait! Hopefully little one will cooperate and show us the goods. I plan on drinking orange juice and eating some sugar before the appointment :) Granted we really just want to see a healthy baby on the screen!

Midwife Appointment + Snow + Sick Husband = Our Day

Colorado is in the mist of a very large (pre) winter storm! It is suppose to countinue till tomorrow night! yikes! I was suppose to have my 17 week doctors appointment at 3:45pm. However I got a call this morning saying they were closing early and if I could make it in at 11am...(this was 10:30am when they called) of course I said yes I wasn't missing hearing my babies heart beat!

Bradley came down with the dreaded cold that I had last week, no matter how hard I tried not to get him sick he still got it! He was a trooper though and drove me through tons of slippery snow to the doctors appointment.(such a good husband)
We heard our beautiful babies heartbeat, 160bpm the Midwife is still convinced it is a girl ;)

The baby and I are doing good however my midwife wants me to gain 2 pounds by the next appointment (in 3 weeks) She is telling me to have a milk shake between each meal....I kind of like this pregnancy thing ;)

16 Week: Avocado

Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

15 Weeks: Apple

Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces. She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds.

Bump Watch: 14 weeks

1) We forgot to take a 13 week picture
2) I didn't know there was a hole in my shirt until Mom took this picture! whoops!

14 Weeks: Lemon

Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.
This week I have been noticing a bunch of "flutters/popping/nudges" it is still hard to get my mind around there is a lil human being inside of me!
Now that my sister Heather and kid's are back in Colorado I've been spending lots of time with them. I asked Ella yesterday if she thought the baby was a boy or girl. She replied "girl" I said "why do you think that?" she said "Because Ma told me so" ; )

October 1st 2008

One year ago today, I became a very lucky girl.

My best friend Bradley flew to CA to propose to me at Disneyland!

(You can read all about it here)

If you would have told me a year later I would be 13 weeks pregnant, I probably would have laughed at you. Though we wanted to wait a year for our little blessing, we left to door open for God's will. Apparently this was his will ;)

Bradley brought me home red roses, sparkling apple cider, and of course powdered doughnuts (They weren't sweet sixteen, we can't find them out in Colorado!)

He knows his pregnant wife.

P.s. be sure to check back later for a post about my doctors appointment.
